Inspirational High School Graduation Speeches

Inspirational graduation speech?

In a little less than 7 months, I’ll be in charge of speaking at my high school graduation. I need some ideas, and I want them to be really creative. Keep in mind the topic is to inspire! Thanks!

Tell them the truth.

If they don’t make to graduation they will never earn more than $18,000 a year if they are lucky.

Right now with a diploma their worth maybe $25,000 a year, that’s an apartment and a cheap car. Your vacation time will end up being used to moved or visit family. Your job will be some kind of a lower level support such as clerical support, answering the phone, maybe fast food, mail room sorter, cleaning something.

If you attend a community college or a trade school you are now worth $30,000 a year. If your single you still living in an apartment, but drive a new car. Vacations are a cruise once a year. Now you are a medical assistant, hair dresser, administrative assistant, and various other positions requiring a certificate in something.

If you transfer from the community college to a university you now worth $45,000 a year to start. If you major in math, science or engineering you will start at $55,000 a year. Now you have a house at about 2000 sq.feet, and a $40,000 car, plus take exotic vacations.

Go for a Masters and your worth $60,000. A masters in math, science, or engineering you start at $65,000. With a Phd you can earn $85,000 a year to start (no experience). Now you have a house at about 3000 sq feet, a second home for the summer, and can take 1-3 months off on sabbatical.

All of these examples are based on little or no experience for those just starting out. You want to inspire people? Tell them the truth. Nothing motivates more than knowing what they are going to get it they take a few more course. Besides, the last two years of working on your BS or BA are the courses that are fun. Everything after the first two years is fun. Your finally taking stuff that is so interesting it does not even feel like a class or work.

Good luck and welcome to the jungle. It’s a great place no matter what you have heard.
